I read this post on TechCrunch about ChaCha. We’ve been studying them recently, especially after they got a deal from CocaCola to deliver event specific ads. It is apparent now to me that ChaCha HAD to change their strategy. Instead of using the technology to do guided search, now they are aiming for a direct marketing approach.
Wouldn’t it be better if you could just call someone to get the information you desire, rather than have it delivered to you? Ad delivery to the consumer is exactly the same model advertisers have been using for CENTURIES! Most people want a better way, I think. Send me just the information I request, unencumbered by the bias of the advertiser. Pull vs. push. It’s just the right thing to do.
