How to Make a Blog on Wordpress using Network Solutions

WP_logo1- Buy a domain name (like www.jefflazerus.com)
2- Buy a hosting account on Network Solutions
3- Install Wordpress out of the “Tools” panel in your account manager area
4- Login and post, but don’t expect it to work the same each time, and always expect some new useless (?) upgrade from Wordpress at random times.

UPDATE 11/05/09:

Network Solutions now allows you to buy a Wordpress hosting package, without shared hosting or the high end virtual server, for something like $4.00 US. If you just want Wordpress on a nice stable platform, this could be a good solution. If I were going to add WP to a commerce site that already exists I would seriously consider this option.

    Hi Jeff,

Thans for the post. You make a great point for people with a commerce site to add a blog. I am a evangelist of businesses to have a blog and the Wordpress product fits well for small businesses to start a blog.

    Thanks,

    Shashi

Yes. I totally agree. The idea is that my “experiments in www” blog takes some work out of it for a small biz who can’t take the time or the risk. The Network Solutions/WP combo would be a really good choice. Having a blog is a great way to connect and grow with your customers, just as you and I are doing. Everyone wins: I feel (as a customer) that my opinion matters, and you (as a business) can get actionable feedback about customer preferences, mood, buying behavior, and other invaluable information. Your blog can also serve as an indirect sales channel, among other things.

Thanks! You just gave me a lot to think about. :)

    Hello all!

When bestablichnoy site layout (HTML and CSS) to display the same on all its pages, I made a navigation menu library file. They’ll see whether its search engine and how it is perceived in terms of SEO?

And one more question. Using alt and title attributes in the navigation menu from the standpoint of SEO.

I would be grateful to all responded.

I think you are asking if search engines recognize keywords in your navigation menu? The answer, to my knowledge is yes. But keywords (currently) are more appropriately placed in the title, the “H” tags (H1, H2, etc.) and in your categories. If you are using WordPress, get the “All in One SEO Pack” plugin. There’s an article about how to use it here.
